| Kato's Budget Guide to Saigon Guesthouses |
Hello, I’m Kato. You might know me as the Green Hornet’s Asian Sidekick (or as a Soidawg alumnus). When I’m not busy fighting crime with my superior martial arts techniques, I’m out scouting budget guesthouses in Saigon. This is my guide:
These places are a few steps away from Le Pub. I checked these places out myself. I would have no problem staying in any of them. xoxo -Tri "Kato" Le *** These are all in the same alley as Le Pub (Registration Party): Hong Vinh Address: 28/1 Bui Vien St Phone: +848 3920 1382 Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it $18 - 2 twin beds $23/24 - 1 big bed and a twin (comfy for 3) It’s about one year old. However, it doesn’t offer breakfast. But food is cheap here. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Que Huong Hotel Address: 28/10 Bui Vien St Phone: +848 3837 4208 / +848 3837 6885 Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it $15 - 1 double bed (good for 2) $25 - 2 double beds (good for 4 and some spooning) Similar to Hong Vinh above. A tad older but still fine. No breakfast. Lien Ha Hotel (pricier option but offers breakfast & small pool) Address: 28/4 Bui Vein St Phone: +848 3837 5581 Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Many options for rooms. 2 buildings next to each other. One has cheaper rooms because it has no elevators (3rd & 4th floors might be tricky on Sunday after the tourney). $21 & $27 - 1 double (no elevator) $29 - 2 double beds (no elevator); good bargain for 3? Similar rooms for the building w/ the elevator. Just add $5-8 more. There are several options with bed sizes. Make sure you tell them what you want/need. Be Specific! (2 twins, 1 double, 2 doubles?) *** These are in an alley just behind Le Pub - (known as "mini hotel alley") Hong Hoa Hotel Address: 185/28 Pham Ngu Lao St Phone: +848 3836 1915 Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Website: http://honghoavn.com All rooms have 2 twin beds but differ in sizes and balcony option. Choices of $17, $21 and $25 I did see a few computers available downstairs for free usage. Tram Anh Hotel Address: 185/24 Pham Ngu Lao St Phone: +848 3837 1004 / +848 3837 3683 Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it $12 - 1 double bed $18 - 2 twin beds $24 - a double bed & a twin bed (good for 3) There are plenty other options. If these places run out of rooms, I can check out some more places and recommend them to you. Send me an email at kato@saigon-ultimate.com if you need help. And if you need fancier places or want to see more options, check out the following website. I’ve used it before and had no problem. http://www.hotels-in-vietnam.com |
