Hey dear Singapore participants,
Indeed a dream came true last weekend... a real Vietnamese team (and not a bunch of loud expats who happen to be in the country) at a big international tourney and a performance which stands like a house for a first timer! Yes, we can be very proud!
The taste was so good that we want more of this! Soon, faster better... hotter!
Plenty of tournaments in the region:
Hong Kong in October
Manila in November
Bangkok HAT in February
Boracay, Philipines in March
Bali in April
Taiwan in April?
Korea in May
Shanghai in June
and of course the Saigon - Hanoi friendlies which we are going to play!
Lets pick some and look for a sponsor!
I just send you a link to my pictures. Enjoy and see you all soon!
Cheers,
Stef

Hi guys, from HCMC;
Let me add my 2 cents (about 300 VNdong) worth. I'm also cc'ing the whole UFOs group so they can take part in the post-tournament high!
First of all, thanks to Mai for your inspirational words. And for your consistent leadership. And for your wonderful sense of humanity & humour. And for fulfilling the dream I had back in 2002, when you and I went to Singapore for your very first trip abroad, your first tournament, and, for that matter, the first international tournament ever attended by a Vietnamese person. I dreamt that one day, you would lead a Vietnam team to an international tournament, and that maybe, just maybe, your kids will be on Vietnam's first Olympic Ultimate team.
Well, thanks to everybody's hard work, we've now fulfilled the first part of the dream . . . Anybody want to step up & help Mai with the second?
As for this year's tournament, I just want to say an enormous TUYET VOI too -- and to share with you how satisfied, proud, happy, and just a little nostalgic I feel. Why?
Because Vietnam really showed we're on the Ultimate map
Because our Vietnamese players proved that they can hang, cut, huck, hammer, and lay out as well as the best players in the world. And, we've got SPIRIT!
Because of the friendship, the sharing, the commitment and the passion we all feel for the game and the community.
Because together, we're building something very, very special that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.
Because for me, my life in Vietnam is so much richer for the friends I've made and the skills I've built on the Ultimate field.
Onward, upwards! Vietnam Co Len!

Hello all, from Singapore...
Oh wait, from Hanoi. ;-)
I have been asked so many times since last night when I returned to Hanoi: "how was Singapore?", which I felt so hard to answer. Just a word "good " or "great" or "fun" is not enough. If I could, I would stop everything else and spend one or two hours telling of what a great time we had, of the games we played, of what we learned, of the people we met, of the places we were to, of our feelings, of everything!!!
But it was impossible, so I just grinned broadly and said: TUYET VOI! I hope they could see part of it through my face.
Well, Singapore was great, and one of the things that made it the most wonderful to me was that players from Hanoi and Saigon met each other and played together in one team. And we played well. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for such a memorable time we had. Especially I would like to thank Stef for all your quiet works to the team (which are so many and so important!), David for your sound and experienced leadership, Andrew for "connecting people", Solange for the post-game cheers, and everyone for being so nice, wholehearted, and supportive in and out of the fields. There are still so much to be said and thanked for...
I think I am speaking for all the other Vietnamese players as well. Yesterday when I talk with them, I realized that we, the Vietnamese players, are so rich in love, affection and gratitude, but so poor at expressing it!
I really look forward to the next meeting between UFOS and HUC, wherever it will be!
Cheers, and all the very best to you all
Mai

Hi guys,
Congratulations again on a great tournament. We made a name for ourselves and had a lot of fun in the process. Three cheers for Stef and the Hanoi gang for providing the impetus to make it all happen. This was definitely one of my greatest ultimate experiences - thanks to you all. Let's see if we can't find a way to make it to the Philippines in November!
David
